Mystique and Mystic - Marquis José Juan Scicluna

Information:

Sliema, Malta
"The twin towers of Mystique and Mystic were started in 1964. Scicluna scavenged materials and architectural elements from war-damaged ruins to build Mystique, thus creating a memorial to the Nazi siege of Malta. Glass mosaics adorn the interior with astrological symbols, owls, swastikas and serpents, and trees have been planted to grow up within the structure. The towers were built by Scicluna with only two helpers, and work continued till his death."
