Information:
Acheres-la-Foret, France
"CHOMO, (Roger Chomeaux) trained as an artist, but after receiving no response from his first exhibition in the Sixties, he retired to a reclusive existence on a plot of land near Fontainebleau, busying himself with his Village of Preludien Art. A collection of buildings constructed from reclaimed materials is surrounded by thousands of sculptures and assemblages."
"Some of the buildings house collections of his paintings. His varying styles have included figures made of entwined and painted chicken wire and others of carved buildings blocks or scorched wood. The woods around his compound are adorned with small sculptures, while Chomo's many phonetically-spelled mottos and exhortations hang from the branches."
