Information:
La Frênouse (aka Le Musée Robert Tatin): 53230 Cossé-le-Vivien, France, Tel: +33-(0)2 43 98 80 89. "Robert Tatin had a variety of jobs, including circus performer and coalman, before becoming a ceramic artist in the Fifties. With his wife Elisabeth he bought a dilapidated farmhouse near Le Mans. After restoring the house, Tatin set to work in 1962 on a unique mystical environment. Approached by the "Avenue of Giants", where his heroes are depicted, the entrance to the central courtyard is guarded by an open-mouthed dragon. Within the courtyard is a temple-like structure intended to integrate the religions of the world and constitute a personal homage to himself and his wife."
"Around a pool stand three tall structures: Notre-Dame-Tout-Le-Monde (Our Lady Of Everyone), the Door of the Sun, and the Door of the Moon. After his death, Elisabeth completed Tatin's work and created a museum and gallery to display his paintings."
