Information:
His Humboldt County yard is surrounded by an impromptu gallery of paintings that seem very unlike the redwood forests nearby. Maybe because Reuben migrated from Wisconsin many years back-- living as a hobo until he settled here. Never any art training beyond his basic school experiences, but always an interest. And a nagging imperative to try and paint what he sees in his apparently somewhat troubling dreams. There’s a series of basketball players without heads, a man in a room with a ladder having a series of "adventures", paintings with Scrabble like letter combinations and symbols that seem like hieroglyphs or some sort of alien code. What do they mean? That’s not Reuben’s job to figure out. He’s just determined to put them down, and move on to what comes at him next.
