Walterboro, SC
Can City - "Jolly" Joshua Samuels

d. 1984
Environment

Information:

"Farmer "Jolly" Joshua Samuels from the southeastern United States once claimed a brawny, tattooed angel drove through the sky in an 18-wheel tractor trailer. He said God wanted him to build the city of heaven on his farmland. He soon built a hotel, a YMCA, a restaurant, a school and a few houses. His materials: thousands of tin cans."

The Review, 1997
