Information:
"After a working life that encompassed social work and art-teaching, in the late Eighties Noah Purifoy embarked on an artistic career of his own. He established himself as an artist working with assemblages of found materials in the manner of Edward Klenholz and Robert Rauschenberg, and exhibited widely both in the United States and abroad."
"Some time ago, he moved from Los Angeles to establish an open-air desert studio alongside a trailer home, allowing his creations full rein. By using industrial waste, painted and reclaimed timber, and discarded furniture and clothing, he was able to construct a whole range of large scale tableaux and arrangements, including a giant collage laid out on the ground. The series of sculptures and shelters form an environment wholly at one with the desert landscape."
