Museum of Mirth, Mystery and Mayhem - Bill Christman
Exhibit of fun
Information:
Bill Christman is a two-a-day kind of a guy. Two corndogs a day, that is. Bill runs the museum of Mirth, Mystery and Mayhem in St. Louis, located on the 3rd floor of the City Museum. Proudly displayed are things like the world's largest pair of underwear, and the honeymoon trailer that Elvis and Priscilla once shared, but it's the siren call of the corndog that floats this boat. Those lucky enough to pass through the doors are introduced to the "Corndog Path to Total Awareness." It's painted right there on the floor, and even a guy like me with questionable abilities is capable of following along. Ancient tablets removed from a temple in Egypt clearly show a corndog being consumed. A cut-away shot of Stonehenge leaves no doubt that early man knew a thing or two about corndog support structures. Christman says all of his theories intersect eventually, and at the end of the tour we did some intersecting of our own as Bill delivered some of those golden goodies right to our table. Never one to stand still, he's also constructed an elaborate display on the process of mining nougat. And he's curated an exhibit of his friend, the late Dewey Dempsey, that occupies a space next to his own at City Museum.
