Information:
Richard Martin's yard is easy to spot in this part of the prairie where foliage starts getting sparse. It's crammed with birds, and bugs, and devils, and skeletons he's fashioned from farm machinery. But unlike some of his scrap-sculpting peers, Dick won't alter a metal part to fit his needs. It has to go onto the sculpture just like it came off the corn detassler or milking thingamajig, so that someone who'd actually used such a whatchamacallit would be able to recognize it.
Even with all the "junk" ironwork, the Martins' yard was impeccable. And on our way out, Dick suggested we take one of his very cool firebirds with us, further reducing our Chrysler's capacity by another five percent!
