Information:
Mike Robins spent much of his youth in InDonesia soaking up sights and sounds that now contribute exotic flavor to his lovely little farmstead outside Ashland. The masks Mike makes on his farm—stone images mounted on trees and attached to the sides of his house—seem out of place in mid-Missouri. They peek out of the shrubs and gardens he's meticulously maintained. Some of the masks are painted in bright day-glo colors, others are earth-toned and neutral.
This Tolkien-tinged world that Robins has created is nowhere near a main road. Few will ever see it without an invitation. It's a prime example of how the artistic spirit moves some people to work incredibly hard for incredibly little financial reward.
It's also a great place to get covered with ticks.
