Stevens Point, WI
Tony's Fan Fair - Tony Flatoff

1944-2006
Home environment

Information:

Tony's Fan Fair in Stevens Point, Wisconsin is no more.

Anthony J. "Tony" Flatoff, 62, of 3220 Jade Court, Stevens Point, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 20, 2006, at St. Michael's Hospital. Born on June 27, 1944, in Stevens Point to the late Walter and Emily (Buza) Flatoff, he was married to Mary Fuller on Oct. 17, 1964, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Rudolph. Tony worked in maintenance for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for 29 years before retiring in 1999. He enjoyed carpentry and coin collecting.

From Deb Szczensny:
Seems to me that I noticed the periodic dismantling of the "Fan Fair" site over the coarse of a year or two. The nifty old airplane whirlygigs in the front yard were the first to go, then some of the bigger pieces of the "Fan Fair" itself. There was one single big fan left on a pole for awhile, and then the last time I went by (this spring), the yard was stripped clean and some young couple were outside mowing, etc. I hope the fact that it was disappearing in bits and pieces means it was being carefully dismantled and reassembled somewhere else and not getting taken to the dump. I'll ask around and try to find out what happened to it. I'll let you know what I discover.
