Old Rolfe, IA
War Memorial - Father Paul Dobberstein
1872-1954
World War II Memorial
|
|
Information:
Another piece by Father Dobberstein, creator of the nearby Grotto of the Redemption. South of West Bend, he erected a small memorial to those who fought in World War II. Built in what was once the town of Old Rolfe, it now lies basically in the middle of nowhere, the town having moved some years ago. Watch out for the hordes of mosquitoes that guard the place!
