Information:
Tony Perniciaro is a painter and a poet. And several lifetimes ago he was a bricklayer in New York City. Prolific doesn't even begin to describe the body of work Perniciaro's created, and most of it actually has something to say. Using paint he recovered from dumpsters, he committed his wisdom to paper as fast as he could work the brush. Tony speculates that he's Done somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000 paintings in his lifetime, and at 84, he was still cranking them out. He'd published a book once, copies of which he gladly gifted to each of us, mumbling something about it being the 13th sale of the original 10,000 copy run. But later, I discovered that because he was unhappy with the book when it was published, he'd bought the entire inventory, and put them away. It was a children's book, bright with poems and short thoughts, and a peculiar vision of how the world should be. Quite frankly, they seemed like lessons more suited to adults than to children. Tony also offered to add some art to the Big Ball. We warned him it would be temporal, because we're always making it bigger. He shrugged and grabbed the paint, as if to say, "What isn't?" A Rare Visions Hall of Famer, without a doubt.
