Information:
Loi Vo makes really cool things from car bumpers. Loi came here from Vietnam, and he's extremely proud of a huge American eagle he sculpted that's on display at Lincoln Plating, where he works. For a local high school he fashioned an incredibly graceful knight on horseback. In his front yard, a shiny chrome grasshopper and praying mantis dramatically confront each other. And in each case he can tell you from what kind of car the raw materials came. He says that big old Mercurys are among the best, but that they're hard to find these days.
You can see Loi’s art throughout Lincoln: Praying Mantis, Grasshopper and Space Shuttle (at El Sitio Restaurant) - 2785 S 17th St, Lincoln, NE
Eagle (at Lincoln Industries) - 600 W E St
